Bingo software
Pragmatic Play, Dragonfish, Gamesys, Jumpman — the four names behind nearly every British bingo room, and what each one is like to play
This page carries advertising. The “Visit site” buttons are affiliate links: when a reader opens an account through one, the operator pays us a commission. It costs the reader nothing. No operator pays for its position on this site, and none sees a page before it is published: the order follows the regulatory frame and the bingo on offer. How we review, and how we are paid.
Why the supplier matters
The operator owns the brand and holds the licence. The supplier builds the bingo: the rooms, the ticket formats, the draw, the auto-daub, the chat window and the jackpot mechanics. Two sites on different platforms play differently even when the ticket prices match, and the difference is the supplier.
It matters for three practical things. Which formats exist at all — fifty-ball only lives on a couple of platforms. How the jackpot works, because the pooling is the supplier’s network. And whether there is a chat, because the chat is part of the software and a site cannot add one by choosing to.
Pragmatic Play
Pragmatic Play Bingo is what you are playing on almost every site in our list, because it is what Jumpman runs. It covers ninety, eighty, seventy-five, fifty and thirty-ball, plus its own variant, Bingo Blast, which is a shorter round with a multiplier.
It is competent and it is modern: the rooms render well on a phone, auto-daub and best-ticket highlighting work properly, and the jackpot plumbing across a network is reliable. What it is not is distinctive. A Pragmatic room on one site is a Pragmatic room on another, and the operator’s contribution is the ticket prices, the schedule and whether the chat is staffed.
Dragonfish, Gamesys and the rest
Dragonfish is 888’s bingo platform and was the backbone of British online bingo through the 2010s. A great many of the sites in our archive ran on it, and several of the brands that still trade do. It is the network most associated with the chat-led style of British bingo.
Gamesys built the software behind some of the largest British bingo brands and runs its own network. Jumpman Gaming is both an operator and a platform: it holds the licence and builds the shell the brands sit in, with Pragmatic supplying the bingo inside it. Cozy Games runs a network of smaller brands. Virtue Fusion, now part of Playtech, is where fifty-ball came from and still powers rooms on several large sites.
The trend across all of them is consolidation: fewer platforms, more brands on each. That is why a market with hundreds of British bingo sites has perhaps half a dozen distinct bingo experiences in it.
How to tell which one you are on
The quickest way is the licence number on our cards, which tells you the licensee and therefore the platform. Failing that, three tells in the lobby. The formats on offer: fifty-ball points to Virtue Fusion or Pragmatic, Bingo Blast points to Pragmatic. The look of the ticket and the position of the best-ticket highlight, which is a supplier signature. And the room names, which operators often inherit wholesale from the platform.
The footer usually names the supplier too, under the licence statement. It is in small type near the regulator’s logo, and it is the one place a site is obliged to be precise.

Questions readers ask
Which bingo software do most UK sites use?
Pragmatic Play supplies the bingo on the Jumpman network, which runs more than a hundred and fifty British brands and ten of the fourteen sites we track. Dragonfish, Gamesys, Virtue Fusion and Cozy Games cover most of the rest.
Does the software affect my chances of winning?
Not in any way you can use. Every platform draws numbers with a random number generator tested by an independent laboratory. What the software changes is the formats on offer, the jackpot pooling and whether there is a chat.
What is Bingo Blast?
Pragmatic Play’s own variant: a shorter round with a multiplier mechanic, sitting between the standard formats. Dove Bingo runs it alongside its four ticket formats.
How can I find out who supplies a site’s bingo?
The footer, under the licence statement, usually names it. Failing that, the formats are a good tell: fifty-ball and Bingo Blast each point to a particular supplier.
