Mapau Bingo
An archived review of a bingo site that has closed
Mapau Bingo is no longer trading and nothing on this page is an offer, a recommendation or a link. It is kept as a record of a review this site published when the brand was running, which was in the 2000s.
Any bonus, jackpot, card price or percentage quoted below is a quotation from that old review and is not a current offer. It could not be claimed if you wanted to: the site is gone. Bonus terms at licensed British sites have also changed since — playthrough is capped at ten times and a single offer may no longer mix bingo with casino games. What the terms mean now.
For sites that are trading and licensed, see the sites we have checked.
What it was
Mapau Bingo belonged to the Sunny Group, which our review lists as also running Casino Fortune, Miami Beach Casino, Gold Gate Casino and Mapau Casino. It ran on Playtech software, with chat rooms staffed by admins, an auto-dauber, the option to play several rooms at once, and pre-buy.
The software
Playtech.
What it tells you about the period
Auto-daub, multi-room play and pre-buy are all still here, feature for feature, on sites running software two decades newer. The bingo client reached something close to its final shape early, and what has changed since is the regulation around it rather than the game. Playtech is still a supplier today, through Virtue Fusion — our page on bingo software traces who builds what now.
Why this page still exists
Most bingo sites from this period are gone, and the usual way to deal with their review pages is to delete them or to redirect them to something that pays. We have done neither. A review this site published is part of its record, and a reader who arrives from a twenty-year-old link deserves to find out what happened rather than to be redirected to an advertisement.
There are no commercial links on this page or anywhere in the archive. The full archive holds twenty-four of these.
